Strength And Integrity Of Character

        It was a cold and windy night, waiting outside the station for the auto to go home with my friend. After sometime we saw an auto coming towards us. We hired an auto to reach home, as soon as the auto started running, very cold wind was blowing. After a while we requested the auto driver to please stop the auto near the tea stall. We ordered tea from the tea seller and asked the auto driver, would you like to take tea? he refused by saying no politely. 

        My friend asked him that you do not like tea. He said yes I like tea but I can't take it at the moment. I was trying to explain to him that it is too cold, you take it to warm yourself, still declined our offer, finally we drank our tea and started our journey to reach our destination but unable to understand the reason for rejecting our offer, after reaching home again asked the auto driver, why did not take tea? He said that his son was lost in the accident that took place in the evening.

        He also told us, that he does not have enough money to perform the cremation of his son. Hearing this, we offered to pay extra money in addition to the auto fare. But only accepted the auto fare and politely refused to take extra money from us, also saying that in the next few hours he would earn enough money to perform the last rites of his son. We were shocked and surprised to hear this from the auto driver. Such a strong and sincerity of character is rarely seen.

    चरित्र की ताकत और अखंडता

        सर्द और हवा भरी रात थी, अपने दोस्त के साथ ऑटो के घर जाने के लिए स्टेशन के बाहर इंतज़ार कर रही थी। कुछ देर बाद हमने देखा कि एक ऑटो हमारी ओर आ रहा है। हमने घर पहुंचने के लिए एक ऑटो किराए पर लिया, जैसे ही ऑटो चलने लगा, बहुत ठंडी हवा चल रही थी। थोड़ी देर बाद हमने ऑटो चालक से अनुरोध किया कि कृपया चाय की दुकान के पास ऑटो को रोक दें। हमने चाय वाले से चाय मंगवाई और ऑटो वाले से पूछा कि क्या तुम चाय लेना चाहोगे तो उसने विनम्रता से ना कहकर मना कर दिया।

        मेरे दोस्त ने उससे पूछा कि तुम्हें चाय पसंद नहीं है। उसने कहा हाँ मुझे चाय पसंद है लेकिन मैं इस समय इसे नहीं ले सकता। मैं उसे समझाने की कोशिश कर रहा था कि यह बहुत ठंडा है, आप इसे अपने आप को गर्म करने के लिए ले लो, फिर भी हमारे प्रस्ताव को अस्वीकार कर दिया, अंत में हमने अपनी चाय पी और अपनी मंजिल तक पहुंचने के लिए अपनी यात्रा शुरू की। माना, लेकिन हमारे प्रस्ताव को ठुकराने का कारण नहीं समझा, घर पहुंचकर फिर ऑटो चालक से पूछा, चाय क्यों नहीं ली? उन्होंने बताया कि शाम को हुए इस हादसे में उनका बेटा खो गया.

        उसने हमें यह भी बताया, कि उसके पास इतने पैसे नहीं हैं कि वह अपने बेटे का अंतिम संस्कार कर सके। यह सुनकर हमने ऑटो किराए के अलावा अतिरिक्त पैसे देने की पेशकश की। लेकिन केवल ऑटो का किराया स्वीकार किया और विनम्रता से हमसे अतिरिक्त पैसे लेने से इनकार कर दिया, यह भी कहा कि अगले कुछ घंटों में वह अपने बेटे का अंतिम संस्कार करने के लिए पर्याप्त पैसा कमाएगा। ऑटो चालक की यह बात सुनकर हम चौंक गए और हैरान रह गए। चरित्र की इतनी मजबूत और ईमानदारी कम ही देखने को मिलती है।
