Campus Placement

        I remember it was the last software company on my campus, in that semester. eligible candidates were excited as well as nervous, because the eligible candidates are more than the required candidates. Everyone was hoping to give their best and waited outside the conference hall for the recruiting team to arrive. After some time the recruiting team came and announced, please attend the HR orientation program in the conference hall.
        

        Hearing this, everyone reached the conference room and sat down in their seats. It took longer than expected to settle so another announcement was made. orientation program is about to start and please take your attention. After some time the program started and explained about the company, interview process and much more. To pass the interview, three rounds have to be qualified. To filter the crowd, first group discussion, second written test and last personal interview.

        Hearing this, everyone is desperate to show their best presence in the group discussion. So making a strategy to qualify the first round. Those who qualify in the first round go on to the next round. It was a written test of 2 hours. It is evening, the list of qualified students of the second round has been pasted on the display board. A classmate announced loudly that the result of the second round was out. Hearing this, everyone ran to see the results. Those who passed were celebrating but those who did not were disappointed.
        

        After some time another notice came in which it was asked to prepare for the interview which is going to start within an hour. It was almost night, we were all tired and hungry but none of us left the conference room because of the interview. We were all in a panic about what would happen during the interview, asking each other such questions and most of us pretending to be confident in front of others. Now it's time to start the interview, as soon as the first person called for interview.

        Everyone's heart started beating. Those students are coming out of the interview room, other students are asking about the interview? After a few more students it was my turn to interview, as I was entering the cabin, I was very nervous. An interviewer offered me a glass of water with a few pieces of biscuits. I drank a full glass of water and ate half a biscuit. The interviewer began with the bonus question "Tell me about yourself?"

        I was prepared for this question from the very beginning of the interview and tried to cover all the areas about myself like academics, extracurricular activities, strengths and weaknesses etc. Slowly I regained my confidence during the clarification. Now the question level changed to the next level. Some of them I answered very well but some of them gave partial answers. Whenever I answered well, he nodded. If he does not agree with the answer no sign is shown.

        After that started asking conditional questions and got convinced by my solution oriented approach. Because of his gesture I expected him to agree with my answers. Finally, the interviewer said that the interview is over and final result will be compiled in next one hour. I was coming out of the cabin with a positive expectation. Rest of the candidates interview is over, then the list of selected candidates list was pasted on the notice board. I ran to the notice board to find my name and found it in the middle of the list. I took a deep breath and thanked God for the selection.

        ये सुनकर हर कोई ग्रुप डिस्कशन में अपनी बेहतरीन मौजूदगी दिखाने के लिए बेताब है. इसलिए पहले राउंड को क्वालिफाई करने की रणनीति बना रहे हैं। जो पहले दौर में अर्हता प्राप्त करते हैं वे अगले दौर में जाते हैं। यह 2 घंटे की लिखित परीक्षा थी। शाम हो चुकी है, दूसरे राउंड के क्वालिफाइड छात्रों की सूची डिस्प्ले बोर्ड पर चस्पा कर दी गई है। एक सहपाठी ने जोर-जोर से घोषणा की कि दूसरे राउंड का रिजल्ट आउट हो गया है। यह सुनकर सभी परिणाम देखने दौड़ पड़े। जो पास हुए वे जश्न मना रहे थे लेकिन जो नहीं आए उन्हें निराशा हुई।
        

        कुछ देर बाद एक और नोटिस आया जिसमें इंटरव्यू की तैयारी करने को कहा गया जो एक घंटे के अंदर शुरू होने जा रहा है. लगभग रात हो चुकी थी, हम सब थके हुए और भूखे थे लेकिन साक्षात्कार के कारण हममें से कोई भी सम्मेलन कक्ष से बाहर नहीं निकला। इंटरव्यू के दौरान क्या होगा, इस बात को लेकर हम सभी दहशत में थे, एक-दूसरे से ऐसे सवाल पूछ रहे थे और हममें से ज्यादातर दूसरों के सामने कॉन्फिडेंट होने का नाटक कर रहे थे। अब साक्षात्कार शुरू करने का समय आ गया है, जैसे ही पहले व्यक्ति ने साक्षात्कार के लिए बुलाया।
        

        सबका दिल धड़कने लगा। वे छात्र साक्षात्कार कक्ष से बाहर आ रहे हैं, अन्य छात्र साक्षात्कार के बारे में पूछ रहे हैं? कुछ और छात्रों के बाद साक्षात्कार की मेरी बारी थी, जैसे ही मैं केबिन में प्रवेश कर रहा था, मैं बहुत घबराया हुआ था। एक साक्षात्कारकर्ता ने मुझे बिस्कुट के कुछ टुकड़ों के साथ एक गिलास पानी की पेशकश की। मैंने पूरा गिलास पानी पिया और आधा बिस्किट खा लिया। साक्षात्कारकर्ता ने बोनस प्रश्न "मुझे अपने बारे में बताएं?" के साथ शुरू किया।

        मैं साक्षात्कार की शुरुआत से ही इस प्रश्न के लिए तैयार था और मैंने अपने बारे में सभी क्षेत्रों जैसे शिक्षाविदों, पाठ्येतर गतिविधियों, ताकत और कमजोरियों आदि को कवर करने की कोशिश की। धीरे-धीरे मैंने स्पष्टीकरण के दौरान अपना आत्मविश्वास वापस पा लिया। अब प्रश्न स्तर अगले स्तर में बदल गया। उनमें से कुछ का मैंने बहुत अच्छा उत्तर दिया लेकिन उनमें से कुछ ने आंशिक उत्तर दिए। जब भी मैंने अच्छा जवाब दिया, उसने सिर हिलाया। यदि वह उत्तर से सहमत नहीं है तो कोई संकेत नहीं दिखाया गया है।

        उसके बाद सशर्त प्रश्न पूछना शुरू किया और मेरे समाधान उन्मुख दृष्टिकोण से आश्वस्त हो गया। उसके हावभाव के कारण मुझे उम्मीद थी कि वह मेरे उत्तरों से सहमत होगा। अंत में कहा गया कि साक्षात्कार समाप्त हो गया है और अंतिम परिणाम अगले एक घंटे में संकलित किया जाएगा। मैं एक सकारात्मक उम्मीद के साथ केबिन से बाहर आ रहा था। शेष अभ्यर्थियों का साक्षात्कार समाप्त हो गया, फिर चयनित अभ्यर्थियों की सूची सूचना पट्ट पर चस्पा कर दी गई। मैं अपना नाम खोजने के लिए नोटिस बोर्ड पर गया और सूची के बीच में पाया। मैंने एक गहरी सांस ली और चयन के लिए भगवान को धन्यवाद दिया।
